I felt compelled to write about CurdBee. I have been using CurdBee for my invoicing needs due to their price and simplicity for awhile now. I came to Curdbee from the ultra-popular Freshbooks. As my business grew, I found I needed a more feature rich invoicing app. Unfortunately, I felt Curdbee didn’t fit my needs anymore. The great thing about web apps is when you find that a certain application doesn’t fit your work flow anymore, just move on to a new app. It’s a wonderful thing.
When I decided to move back to Freshbooks, I found the cancellation/downgrading process in Curdbee extremely easy and seamless. A simple button, that’s it. They seem to understand web apps, I didn’t need to answer some stupid email or tell them why I wanted to cancel. Just go.
This morning while checking my email, I see a charge from Curdbee. Naturally, I needed to get ahold of them to fix this problem, and quite honestly I was expecting a long drawn out process with lots of excuses and reasons why I am still being charged. That was not the case at all. I clicked on the email link in the email, informed them I had cancelled my account almost a month and didn’t understand why I am still being charged. With 30 minutes I received an email back from them telling me the date and time that I cancelled my account and that it was mistake on their end. They credited my card, apologized, and that was it. No forms, excuses, or asking me why. All of this on a Sunday morning.
This is a great service for simple invoicing, and when you decide you don’t like it anymore, just pack up your things and hit the road. There are a lot of web apps that could learn a thing or two from Curdbee.
Well done Curdbee team.
